I liked this product first for it's cost, second for it's energy saving ability. I use this in a trailer to cool down and it does a moderate job during the day (at it's hottest) and it was a noticeable improvement over my aging unit. The Good: Strong fan, Nice and cool Air and so far hasn't had any concerns or issues about 1-2 months of use. The So-So: The fan seems to favor towards the 'right' and so it seems the cooling is not as efficient as it could be since it doesn't blow "straight" out of the front.. Not a big problem for me since it has kept the room nice and cool and within a very reasonable level for a 160sq ft area, just outside it's recommended 150sq ft. A much improved ability over its predecessor. The Bad: Water seems to get trapped in the air channel, and so the fan constantly has a water flipping noise slapping water against styrofoam... It's noisy in my opinion. This noise is not remedied by removing the drain plug in the back to let more water out... Overall, would I buy again? Yes. My energy bill dropped $8 (and it runs all the time except when we are sleeping) and it does a good job of cooling down the area it covers. All that for the price and dealing with a little irritation, I'll take it.Read full review

It installed easily. It cools well. I didn't expect a window unit to be quiet. Temperature control is TERRIBLE. Without touching the control, one time it is on it will cool to 73F. The next time I turn it on, it cools to 78F. I understand it is an uncalibrated mechanical thermostat, but this variation with no thermostat adjustment is terrible. It is in my home office and within reach of my desk, so I can turn it off and on ... and it was CHEAP ... but Haier should be able to do better than this. Be wary if this matters.

I was looking for a small, 5,000 btu A/C window that was very quite and COLD. I had my suspisions about this unite because of the price. $99.00????? But I bought it anyway because of the namebrand, I know well. Very easy, fast instlation because all parts were there and instructions were great. My wife has 3rd stage COPD and this unit is more than acceptible for her 12ft X 12ft room. It will run a person out of the room on the coolest setting so we keep it on low cool and at about number 5 or 6. So quite and so energy effeciant... Couldn't be happer for this price. Even in this hi humidity and heat. No problem. Mike T.

I live in a 1987 travel trailer which I lovingly call my "tin can". It heats up in a hurry when the sun comes out. I had looked for quite awhile for an A/C unit to fit my smaller window. When I installed the unit the temp inside was 87 degrees! Happy to say in a short time it was down in the 70's. It was a fairly easy installation. I think it's another really good product from Haier.
