I am currently beta testing a cordless phone system with 3 expandable handsets for Vtech. They send you the prototype phones and you are required to fill out 2 surveys. Then a couple weeks later they send you the phones that they will be selling in the stores. You then need to send them the prototype phones back pre-paid,and required to do one more survey and the phones are yours to keep at no cost. So theres no money involved, but you really do need to use the phones. So please don't try this just to get a new phone. The Customer Service team is real nice there. They sent me this email for my first survey and I felt I would pass it along to you. GL all and remember it is for future testing so who knows when that'll be!!
THIS IS THE LINK THEY PROVIDED ME:
We are currently accepting new volunteers for future trials. Please feel free to forward the Volunteer Form (link below) to your friends, family members and colleagues to fill out:

I got the original questionaire several weeks ago also, but I have never heard anything back or recieved any phones. So I guess I was not randomly selected. Which is too bad because I was really hoping for this one. :idunno:
Congrats to you tho Samm!

I'm waiting on my phone w/ answering machine to come in right now. I hope they ask me try other things in the future!

I signed up. We'll see if I "qualify."
BTW, I'm looking for one of those vsmile thingies. Had I known I would want one on Black Friday, I could have had it for $10 less. Leap Pad seems to have a similar item for about $59.00. Can't decide which one would be best, as some of the reviews for vsmile weren't exactly glowing, so is nie to know your family enjoys theirs. Knowing me, I'll debate it in my own head until neither is around to be found at any price. :wrong_smiley:

I think I'm testing the same phones as you and I don't care much for them either. I hope when the new phones get here they will have worked out any bugs. I actually got a second set of prototypes because the first set was so bad. It's a great program though and the customer service is excellent!

Omg..I thought it was just me...hehe...I love the phone itself, but the static is driving me nuts...and I don't like that I can't be on the phone and someone pick up too...IDK...like I said i'm giving them honest feedback but I tend to spend a lot of money on my phones...and these just don't seem to compare to my higher end panasonic's. But I am greatfull to be giving this oportunity, and hopefully some of the bugs will get fixed..:idunno: And to everyone signing up, it seems like there always having new trials so be patient and keep an eye on your inbox for an email and if you get an email...call the 800 number and leave your name and number and they will call you back...GL

I got this phone to test. They also said they are still accepting people. so click on the link. It is great to have 4 hand sets. A few bugs, Like get feedback sometimes. but over all very nice. They said I would send this one back when the test is done, and they will send me a brand new one, just like it, but without the bugs. lol.
I got my phone today. It's really cool - the handste is so thin, it looks like a remote control! It's charging and I'm anxious to try it out.

I got my phones a little over a week ago....just two handsets instead of the 3 or 4 some follks have gotten. I really love my phones and have had no problems with mine. They have a lot of cell phone type features and a very cool blue lighted display which is much easier to read than the last two phones I have had. I've done my first survey and have to do one more this week. Funny.....they didn't say I had to return mine. It wasn't in my email or in any of the paperwork I was sent. Hmmmmmm. We'll see what happens after that final survey but I would be very happy to keep mine!

Yesterday I just got the final survery. I have not done it yet, But I will copy and paste what they send me in the email about returning the tester phone.
Please make sure you fill out the questionnaire completely As Soon As Possible. Use only one method to respond (either on-line, Email or Fax).
Note that based on your feedback you might be considered for enrollment in future trials. So, it is important that we get your genuine impression of the operation and the quality of the product.
This final stage of this trial will start in the beginning of January 2007. You will receive a production model to evaluate and keep. You do not have to send back the prototype sample that you are testing at this time. We will keep you posted.
Thanks for participating in our field trial program. We appreciate your effort to collaborate in helping us provide the highest quality product to our customers

I think the phone I'm testing is different from the ones mentioned above. Mine is a 5.8GHz and is not expandable. It does have a really big display screen, which I like and it even tells you if you've missed some calls without having to check the caller ID. I will get the production model in early Jan to keep.
From the time I originally signed up to be a tester, it was about 4 weeks before I received a phone call to verify my shipping addy and was told then that I had been accepted in the trial.

Hi All! I too just got done testing a new VTECH. Mine had no problems at all. I am not supposed to send the phone back. I am supposed to keep it. It sounds as if we are all testing different phones. Fill out another survey as they are in need of alot of testers. I did this and it looks as if I will be testing again.

Do they ask a bunch of questions when they call? Someone called me today but I was on the phone with my friend and didn't switch over since I didn't recognize the number on caller id.
Samm1218
01-09-2007, 01:52 PM
not at all ...their real easy to deal with, they just call to verify your address and number, and they tell you need to do( fill out surveys ,ect..) They don't ask any questions.

01-09-2007, 02:03 PM
Thats good to know :-). The last survey I took over the phone they (a different company not related to this) said it would only be a "couple minutes" of my time and would call from time to time turned out to be calling me every week and the surveys lasted at least 20 minutes. I finally stopped answering after I recognized their # on caller i.d. I didn't have the guts to tell them to stop calling hehe.

I got my phone today. Mine is the 5.8ghz model with 4 handsets (I have them all charging now).
My paperwork says that they will be sending me another (production model) phone in about two weeks and that one is mine to keep. It says that I might have to send the trial one back (they will let me know).
Seem to have a lot of neat features, but we will see once me, my hubby, and two teens start using them.
Thanks to the OP on this one. I was just about to start looking for a new phone (ours is about done) and on my budget I can only afford a basic model.

I got my one [only] phone day before yesterday. It compromised my DSL computer (made it unusable) because it didn't have a filter [my DSL and primary phone line are the same]. Had a service call this morning and they left me a bill of $60. I'm not fretting....no way am I paying for that! The phone seems great but I have to read more about the features and use them.
I finished my trial and I just keep the phone that I tested (I guess). I really like the phone! Congrats to those who got in!:0party0006:

I received the invitation email today. Have to complete the
initial survey and wait to find out if a they will send a phone or not.
They must be inviting everyone that registers.
I'm still waiting i dunno

My phone to test came yesterday and I got it charged and set it up today. The directions that came with it say I will only get ONE questionnaire in this trial process. It needs to be completed by April 26, 2007, so this seems like a pretty easy trial to do and get to keep the phone. I have a paper copy of the survey and they say they will send me the same survey to answer online as the preferred method, before the April 26th date.
This is a really nice phone and was easy to set up and program for speed dial. It also has an answering machine and caller ID in a very compact unit. The numbers are a nice size and have a magnifying plastic cover over each button and they light up when you are dialing.

They called me and said I would be doing a test on a corded phone! We always try to keep a corded phone since it takes a couple of days usually to get power after a hurricane so I am excited. Our current corded phone stinks. I Love Testing Free Stuff!!!:happysmiley:
