I'm making a lot of my Christmas presents this year. . .for friends and co-workers, it's gonna be Salsa Verde (for the guys) and for the girls, fleece neck scarves similar to this pattern: http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2009/10...ece-scarf.html
It saved me a LOT of money because the first one I made was from fleece at $7/yard, on sale for $4.50. . .the others were made from fleece blankets I found varying in price from $2 to $3 each (the pattern I used needed 3 different colors/patterns). I can make 3 scarves from each little blanket. My BIG problem is that my son ran into my sewing machine the day he was ill when he was over here and destroyed it. . .I can't pick up thread now because there is something damaged with the tension, and I don't think I can do a very good job hand sewing the layers together. The remaining scarves (I only have 5 done) will either have to be single layers, or done on a machine that I have begged or borrowed from a friend.
Other than that, the TV was purchased today, got 2 pillow pets at Kohl's last weekend, picked up a couple pair of earrings from the Joma note posted by Christine for $8.99 a couple of weeks ago - valued at over $100! (except I got them for $4.-something!), and everyone else is getting a little cash for Christmas, so basically (other than figuring out what to do with the rest of the scarf fleece!), I'm through!
