If you have AAA auto insurance, I just read in the newest VIA Magazine that they will repair a chip or crack in your windshield up to a dollar-bill-size for free -- No deductible -- 100% free. They say it's less expensive for them to fix it than to replace it. The repairs are virtually indetectible.

I am an AAA insurance agent. This coverage is for AAA auto insurance customers -- not members only. There is a lot of confusion about membership versus insurance.

Membership is the road service benefit. Insurance is just that, insurance on your auto if you are involved in an accident. To take advantage of this repair, you have to have comprehensive coverage on your auto insurance. You cannot have liability only.

And to be fair to all insurance companies, many carriers offer this waiver of your deductible if you repair instead of replace your windshield. Call your agent or the claims office and ask if the waiver of deductible is available and if you have to use a specific repair service.
