The Cleft Lip/Palate Reading Study
We are seeking healthy volunteers for a study of reading skills in
young children with and without clefts of the lip and/or palate.
We are looking for children ages 5-7, their parents and their teachers.
Your child may be eligible if:
• He/she is between the ages of 5 and 7
• Is in kindergarten through 2nd grade
• English is the primary language spoken in your home
• He/she does not have any major medical conditions
The Child: Completes a reading test.(About 2-hours including time
for breaks).
A Parent: Completes an interview and questionnaire (About 40-minutes)
The Child’s Teacher: Completes a questionnaire (About 15-minutes)
Children will receive reading skills testing free of charge.
Parents will receive $30 for their time.
Teachers will receive $15 for their time.
