$250 Retirement Study

We are a NY-based market research firm called Corporate Insight.
We are performing a study on the way 401(k) firms communicate
with plan participants age 50 and up via the web and through the statements they mail every quarter.

Specifically, we are looking to recruit participants who have online
access to a 401(k) or 403(b) with Charles Schwab, T. Rowe Price or another of the country's leading retirement services provider. We are particularly interested in meeting with people that also have a brokerage account, defined benefit plan or stock plan at the same firm.

Our goal is to understand how firms like Schwab, T. Rowe and other leaders communicate with you and whether they try to shape your investing behavior via the website and account statements.

Our research method is simple - we ask participants to come to our
office, log us into their account using their ID and password, and allow
us to film a few pages of the private website - i.e., the area of the site that's not accessible to people who don't have accounts with the firm.
We will edit the films so that your personal information will not be
recorded - your identifying information will remain confidential.
We will NOT ask for your password.

Additionally, we ask you to bring the past two or three paper account statements you've received so we can evaluate the ways that these
firms communicate via the mail. We will make copies of these statements but all of your personal info will be hidden.

If you join our study, expect to spend one session (about 60 minutes)
at our office in midtwon Manhattan. We will pay you $250 for this single session. If you successfully refer us to another individual who is able to participate in the study, you will receive an additional fee of $50. This referral fee is available to ANYONE who successfully refers a participant
to us!

We would like to meet with two different kinds of participants, specifically: 1). People who are approaching retirement (age 50+) and are enrolled in their plan. 2.) People who have retired but still have assets with the plan.

Please indicate whether you're a number 1 or 2 AND the firm where you have your 401(k) when you reply to this ad. We will contact you shortly thereafter if we would like to meet with you. Again, we are especially interested in meeting people that also have a brokerage account, defined benefit plan (i.e., DB plan or pension) or stock plan with the same firm. If this describes you, please indicate that in your email.

If you do not have a 401(k) with Schwab, T. Rowe Price or another leading retirement services provider, please do NOT reply to this ad. We cannot use you for this study.

Confidentiality is assured and your privacy will be protected through various means. All interviews are conducted at our Manhattan office and WE WILL NOT ask you to give us your ID and password.
