Upholstery Burlap Fabric
Natural burlap is conventionally used in the construction of upholstered furniture and is available in several weights. Sagless burlap is very tightly woven and is traditionally used for support when upholstering high-end furniture. While the rustic look of burlap is very popular, it is not recommended for sitting on because of its rough texture. However, it can be used decoratively on the exterior backs and sides of furniture.
Featherproof Ticking Fabric
Ticking is a strong, functional fabric traditionally used to cover pillows and mattresses filled with down and feathers because its tight weave does not allow feathers to poke through. Ticking is available in white, natural, or with a recognizable stripe pattern that is often used decoratively in country décor styles.
Deck & Dust Cover Fabric
Dust cloth is a lightweight fabric that is tacked or stapled to the underside of chairs and other furniture to cover the springs, webbing, or cushioning. Deck cover, also referred to as decking or platform cloth, is used in upholstery projects as a platform under the seat cushion. Since it won’t be seen when the cushions are added, it’s a less expensive option than using upholstery fabric on the deck.
Boat & Marine Upholstery Fabric
Marine vinyl by Nassimi and Spradling is perfect for upholstering boat seats and cushions because it’s very durable and stands up well to weather and sun. Marine-grade vinyl has UV protection to prevent the color from fading in sunlight. Antibacterial and antifungal additives make it mildew resistant.
